MiScore mobile scoring app
The BDVGA is taking up the offer from MiClub to trial their Mobile Scoring App,
free of charge until September, to assess whether we may consider it useful into the future.
The ‘Free Trial’ has been offered to clubs to help minimise contact and card handling while
Covid-19 is still at large. It is an opportunity to use this new technology that has been
sanctioned by Golf Australia and will run in parallel with current card scoring.
Some clubs are using this app, so you may already have experience using it.
Some dummy timesheets have been set up for testing the MiScore App.
You will need to put your name on one of these time sheets to trial the app.
Click HERE for Download and How to Use Instructions.
You will need to enter BDVGA when asked for Your Club Name.
We would like feedback from members good or bad as to whether
You would use it now?
You would adapt to using it once you can see the advantages?
You have other useful comments to make about it.

VARIABLE GRADE RANGES UNDER WHS
The introduction of the World Handicap System, (WHS) on January 30th has created the need for the BDVGA to be more flexible in
assessing the Grade splits as we move from course to course, while trying to keep the fields in each Grade as balanced as possible.
Grade splits may change from week to week so the old ‘A’ 0-16: ‘B’ 17-22 and ‘C’ 23 plus will no longer exist.
Grades may be fine tuned as late as the weekend prior to game day, so turn up , pick up your card, play well
34 points or better will still get a ball and let the system decide which grade you are in..
NEW NTP RANGES
Many players actual handicaps may change on a regular basis , so to minimise errors the NTP will no longer be tied to Grades,
but to a fixed handicap range split. Initially this will be 0 to 15, 16 to 21 and 22 to 36.
If you are a chance for a NTP check your handicap on your score card and write your name on the appropriate range sheet.
Please take care to use the correct range as an incorrect entry is likely to invalidate that pin award.
These changes will be reviewed in approx. 3 months, after the dust of the WHS has settled.
At its last meeting, the committee decided to change the matchplay championships from a scratch event to a handicap event.
Qualifying will still be the best 8 available from each grade in the BDVGA Championships but will be based on Nett Scores
rather than Gross Scores over the two rounds. This will give a greater number of members a better chance of winning.
