BDVGA LOCAL PLAYING RULES

BDVGA LOCAL PLAYING RULES

These local rules are to be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the daily local rules of the course we are playing.

If there is a difference in these three sets of rules the BDVGA Local Playing Rules will prevail.

SPEED OF PLAY

All groups are expected to keep up with the group in front.

To assist in this all members should be playing “Ready Golf” and fully

comply with the 2019 changes to the rules of golf and to the local rules listed below.

GROUPS THAT FALL MORE THAN ONE HOLE BEHIND ARE TO QUICKLY MOVE TO THE

NEXT TEE AND MISS A HOLE. (SCORE A WASH FOR MISSED HOLES) – BDVGA COMMITTEE

OUT OF BOUNDS AND LOST BALL

YOU ONLY HAVE 3 MINUTES TO LOOK FOR A BALL. The 2019 changes to the rules of golf allow a new Local Rule which has been adopted by BDVGA  which provides an alternative to stroke-and-distance relief for a ball that is lost outside a penalty area or out of bounds. If a provisional ball has not been played, the player must drop a ball on the fairway within the vicinity of where it went out of bounds or was deemed to be lost with a penalty of two strokes. It is now not permissable to go back to where the last shot was played and play another shot as this slows down play.

EXPOSED TREE ROOTS

Exposed tree roots – interfering with the proper playing of the game thru the green to be declared GUR –

this will apply only to the area of the intended swing – no relief for stance.

Ball can be placed up to 1 club length away – no nearer the hole.

CALL UPS
